When my body hurts, then i can't sleep. But the pain can go away atleast when i'm singing. And that is a good medicine.
It's been 10 months since I had surgery for lung cancer, which was successful. But despite that, I still have sporadic pain in the right side of my chest, and that pain, along with pain from a severely injured back and neck, often helps keep me awake.
Of course, I could just take some strong painkillers, but being able to concentrate on something other than pills actually takes the pain away.
So when it's such a bad sleepless night, I might as well get up, start making yeast dough, and while it's rising, I might as well sit down and sing a little.
