All my plants died in this soil!

Warning about garden soil from China Shops. If you use it, all your plants will die!

Everyone knows by hand that the garden soil in Spain is not the best, which is why you buy fermented black composted soil from nurseries, shops, and china shops. There are usually too many disadvantages if you don't know what to buy and where.

Like so many others, I also jumped on the wagon and bought soil in the china shop in 80 liter bags. With great zeal I set about replanting all my newly sprouted tomatoes, peppers, and much more. I gave all plants extra fertilizer in the form of calcium and plant fertilizer.

But, after a few days, the plants began to show fatigue. They hung with their leaves, flowers fell off, then the leaves turned yellow and fell off. After 3 weeks all my plants were dead. The same with the indoor plants that have also received the Chinese soil.

I put some avocado seeds in pots. They came up well enough after a very long time, but they all died after 14-18 days in the same way that all other plants died.

Now I panicked and I sent out inquiries about others having the same experience, something that I got confirmed from several teams of people who experienced exactly the same thing with their Chinese soil.

I am especially happy to grow tomatoes, peppers, salads, oranges, lemons and avocados. Next to it, I have a large production of Aloe Vera, which in return thrives in the sandy soil, as long as it is cleaned of stones, and mixed up a little with composted soil. Aloe Vera is something I will return to at a later time, as it really has a myriad of good uses.

Now I've bought some new composted soil with coconut fibers, and it seems that my plants love it.

But I want to raise a warning finger here against buying soil in bags from china shops that look more like large pieces of burnt wood chips than anything else. And that soil doesn't smell like soil, it smells more burnt like charcoal. So stay away from the bagged soil of china shops.
